I live in a duplex apartment (rented) I would like to install window box planters. Is there a way I could install them without damaging the vinyl siding? Is there a such thing as one with hooks that hook inside the window? Also I share a large yard with my neighbor who does not keep up his side of the lawn we don't have a fence and can not install one so I would like to use shrubs to separate it partially where would be the best place to buy inexpensive shrubs? I am needing a window planter box that is 50" long. Would prefer terra cotta, but would be okay with wood or metal (no plastic!). Does anyone know any websites that make window boxes that big?

I have several really nice wooden boxes that came from different vineyards.....the ones they use to ship their nicer wines. Besides storing CD's or other stuff....I don't have any ideas for them. I thought about planter / window boxes or filling them with wine, wine glasses and cheese and stuff for christmas gifts.....any other ideas??????

I am planning on adding wooden window planter boxes to the exterior of my home, what type of wood is best for this project? How can I keep the wood from rotting? How will I install the planter boxes to my home?

My husband made 4 wooden (made from deck board) window planter boxes to be placed on the front windows of our home, what is a good liner that I should put inside these to prevent rotting? I was thinking of wallpaper trays but the planters seem a little too deep for this idea. Any other suggestions? Would a heavy duty plastic work for this as well or would this kill the plants? I plan on potting wave petunias in these.

I have an ugly a/c window unit that is on the front side of my house and I am trying to find ways to disguise it. I don't like the basic covers so I am tring to be creative. Could a window box work(obviously not intending to plant anything inside) although I'm calling this a window unit (due to size), it is installed directly beneath the window/ the dimensions are 60" l x 5" w x 17" h

we are trying to describe the window protrudes out like a planter casing box with windows on 2 side faces and glass / shelf in front and glass on top. Help please...... Does the metal box casing window still called a bay window?

Do you know of any plants that might grow well there without direct sunlight? I live in Oklahoma, so it gets pretty dry here. I might go with cacti but i think i want something with flowers. Thanks for the ideas!! I am willing to water the plants, actually, it's kind of fun (if the wind isn't blowing too hard). I open my window and use the faucet sprayer through the screen. LOL
